INSPIRING WALKS IN THE
LAKE DISTRICT

Lake District Walks

The Lake District is a great place to start your walking holidays, weather that's to just relax on a short break or walking to lose weight. There are some great lake district walks, too many of which to mention here but you can't go wrong with a Wainwright route. Wainwright is a much love name in the lake district, during his later years he produced a series of books detailing all the main fells and routes in the lake district. For each book he provides an illustrated lake district map of his lake district walking routes.

A few examples of the highest peaks include:
Scafell Pike - 978 - 3209 - The Southern Fells
Helvellyn - 950 3117 - The Eastern Fells
Skiddaw 931 - 3054 - The Northern Fells

If your planning to stay overnight in the lake district then you have many options for your lake district accommodation and to suite most budgets. The most popular of lake district holidays usually consist of staying in a romantic remote cottage, or roughing it on a walking route campsite. The lakes has many bed and breakfast for you to take advantage of and if you prefer to be in a town like Kendal or Ambleside  then there are many lake district hotels to chose from.

Find out more from the lake district tourist board.

I will be adding routes and ideas of walks all over britain so pop back from time to time.
