With halloween not far away what will you be planning to do? Halloween is more popular in America but we have taken the celebrations to our hearts. Kids like nothing better than going around trick a treating but if you are up for more than just a scary child vampire at your front door then Pendle hill might just have the fright your after.
Ghost hunting and spookyness
There are lots of places that attracts ghosts and have general spooky legends linked to them. A popular site for Halloween is pendle Hill where the famous Pendle Hill Witches lived and eventually came to their end. The trials of the Pendle witches in 1612 are among the most famous witch trials in English history, and some of the best recorded of the 17th century
The Pendle Witches, as they became known, were believed to have been responsible for the murder by witchcraft of seventeen people in and around the Forest of Pendle.
Paranormal Activity
The latest activity happened in 2009 when a new documentary on Pendle Hill and the Pendle Witches was brought to a dramatic stop after three of the production crew were struck down with a violent illness. The incident happened during the filming of a séance.
"Dare you make the fable journey from the foot of the hill to the top. At night where the 'Meeting at Malkin Tower' took place and lead to the witches being arrested is where many people have claimed to have experienced sitings or visions."
